About Our Clinic…

Locally owned and operated, we consider it our mission to provide high quality veterinary service to our clients and patients.

Dr. Traci Schafer opened Schafer Vet Clinic in 2014, with the commitment to provide quality veterinary care to the Arvada and surrounding areas. In time, Schafer Vet Clinic grew to be well known and loved by the community. In 2023, Dr. Stefanie Tande began working as a DVM in the clinic, as Dr. Schafer started spending more time home with her family. Eventually, Dr. Schafer decided to fully step back and retire and Dr. Tande (with the help of her husband, Dr. Chughtai, and their long-time friend, Dr. Jeff Gerlesits) purchased the clinic in 2024.

Dr. Schafer and Dr. Tande found that their styles of veterinary medicine and goals for Schafer Vet Clinic aligned amazingly well. Although the name has changed to Olde Town Veterinary Clinic, we are fortunate to still have the same great people and place that you have grown to trust. We are very excited to have such a great team, facility, location and clients to work with and are planning to maintain the high quality of medicine that Dr. Schafer has always provided for her patients.

The clinic has expanded its hours and is open Monday through Friday from 8-5. Additionally, if any patient needs care on Saturday 8-3, they are welcome to contact our sister hospital, Homeward Bound Animal Hospital, on Indiana Street in Arvada and will be able to access their records and make appointments there. Dr. Chughtai and Dr. Gerlesits have been owners at Homeward Bound since 2015 and the team there will be happy to treat any patients of Olde Town Vet Clinic as their own.
